As a licensed Minnesota siding installation contractor, we know that there is no one siding product that is perfect for every home. That’s why we offer a number of options for Twin Cities homeowners. If you’re looking for an economical siding that still delivers quality performance and protection for your home, we have a number of vinyl siding lines for you to choose from, in addition to our other siding materials.
Vinyl siding first hit the U.S. residential market in the late 1950s. It was developed by Crane Plastics, an Ohio company. Their vinyl siding was marketed as an improvement over the then-popular aluminum siding. Aluminum siding was an economical, low-maintenance alternative to wood siding, but it had its drawbacks, especially because it was easily dented and required repainting every 5-10 years. Also, repairing a section of damaged aluminum siding is difficult, and it often requires replacement instead.
In contrast to aluminum, vinyl siding’s colors are actually formulated as a part of the product, so it never needs repainting. It’s also very durable and more resistant to denting. It’s virtually maintenance free, and it requires less raw materials and energy to manufacture than aluminum does, making it an environmentally conscious choice.
We are proud to offer Minnesota homeowners a number of premium vinyl siding materials from Exterior Portfolio®, a division of Royal® Building Products. In 2011 Crane’s vinyl siding division was acquired by Exterior Portfolio. That means the vinyl siding products we install now are improved, updated versions of the original U.S. vinyl siding product.
Exterior Portfolio’s vinyl siding lines include both insulated and non-insulated products.
Exterior Portfolio vinyl siding products are made with exceptional care and quality, using the siding industry’s most innovative technology. And for those whose concern for our environment is on the list when selecting building products, you should know that Exterior Portfolio has a commitment to reducing their ecological footprint in both manufacturing and marketing of their products. They are committed to helping protect our precious natural resources and offering environmentally responsible materials.
