Interviewer: We’ve discussed wood, wood clad, and vinyl windows. What other category do you offer?
Bob: The third category would be fiberglass. Fiberglass is a product only a few window companies offer. It’s a relatively new entry to the window industry, but it is gaining in popularity. Fiberglass is a very durable option that some of our customers may have heard about and are interested in, so we make it available. Again, for us, it’s about giving our customers options.
We have fiberglass windows from Beechworth Windows™, which is a James Hardie company. These windows are made in Wisconsin. We install James Hardie siding products, so we’re familiar with the great quality their company is known for. These windows are only available in a few markets in the United States, and we’re excited to be able to offer them to homeowners in Minneapolis and surrounding communities close to our Savage location.
We like the Beechworth window a lot. It has a fiberglass exterior and a wood interior. That way you get the beauty of wood on the inside but you’ve got a maintenance-free exterior that stands up well to our Minnesota weather.
And we have the Integrity Ultrex® fiberglass window from Marvin, which has a fiberglass exterior and a wood interior. Or they have a fiberglass exterior and fiberglass interior. Pella has a fiberglass window, too, that we have available. But the two primary fiberglass windows today that we sell are Beechworth and Marvin. FiberFrame™ by Comfort Line® is a line we’ve had for years – that’s also a fiberglass window we have available. Those are made in Ohio.
Once again, like we offer with wood and vinyl windows, there are options in fiberglass, too.
