Top 5 Things Homeowners Want Include Great Window Ideas

It should come as no surprise that as our lifestyles have changed in the past couple of years that priorities in home design and remodeling have, too.  Leaving your house work work or school in the morning is no longer the norm.  In fact, remote learning and working from home have become more common than you might think, even now that the pandemic restrictions aren’t in place anymore.   As companies and workers as well as schools made adjustments to home-based activity, many found that it was a better setup.

But as lifestyles change, that means our homes need to do the same in order to facilitate a change.  One big thing?  A focus on natural light indoors.  A recent blog post by our designer friends at Marvin highlighted the top 5 trends, and we weren’t surprised that two of them had to do with windows (and by extension, doors – sometimes the best window IS a door).

Windows that blur the lines between indoors and outdoors.  Forging a connection with nature is great for one’s health, physically and mentally.  Larger windows – even floor-to-ceiling ones – can go a long way towards that goal.  Oversized windows as well as multi-window combinations can create not only beautiful views from inside but can create a visual connection between your inside living space and the surrounding outdoors.

Laundry rooms filled with light.  No longer relegated to a corner of the basement or an interior room with no windows, laundry rooms are being transformed into multi-purpose work spaces with at least one large window.  Imagine folding laundry in a sunlight-filled space (like the one shown here) that looks out on a beautiful view of your flower garden!
