One of the hottest exterior design trends that has emerged in the past few years is the black window and door frame. You see it especially paired with white siding for an up-to-date farmhouse look, but you’ll also see it with other exterior color combinations as well, both light and dark. Black works well with just about any siding type, including brick or stone. And black also goes just about any architectural style, so whether your home is a traditional craftsman or an ultra-modern one, there are black window and door frames that will fit with your home.
Not so very long ago having black would have meant painting your frames, because replacement windows were mostly available in white or off white, but today a whole palette of color choices is available, including black and other dark shades like charcoal. Even coffee bean, a dark brown that borders on black, is catching on. And here in the Minneapolis area we’ve seen quite a demand for that.
