Awning:  These beautiful windows provide a way for the home owner to create a bright area of light towards the top of a wall, but also increase the airflow throughout the room. This is something that you want to consider when you’re trying to increase the air and light inside the home.

  • Bay and Bow:  Bay and bow windows provide the homeowner with a way to create a look that is all their own. By using windows that have more of a 3D effect, you can create a sitting area right by the window to look out of and enjoy more from.
  • Picture:  Picture windows provide a large viewing area for those that want to look out into the vast world beyond. While this might not be recommended for those that have neighbors right on top of them, anyone with a large backyard or beautiful views around their homes might benefit from these windows.  Since picture windows are fixed (do not open), they are often combined with either casements or double-hung windows on either side for ventilation.
  • Custom or Specialty Shape:  Custom windows are also a thing that can be done through the right window company. With windows that have their own unique shape, size and other specifics,  you can really make your home stand out on many levels. You get to be the artist with these windows.
  • Gliding or Slider:  Gliding windows open and close with ease, while providing the home with a way to air out when you’d like to enjoy the smell of the great outdoors. They also are larger, so you can enjoy some sun inside the house as well.

There are some other standard types, but these are the most common ones.
