ProVia Announces New Decorative Glass Option for Its Exterior Doors & Replacement Windows

As a Platinum Dealer and Certified Installer for ProVia energy-efficient exterior doors and windows, we’re always excited when they announce new options to customize their products.  Their doors are already extremely popular with our customers, being the #1 choice for so many Minneapolis area homeowners we work with.  One of the reasons for this popularity is that they offer a wide range of colors, glass, hardware, and finishes that allow a client to create truly unique doors and windows for their home.  

The Benefits of Decorative Glass in Doors and Windows

If you’re considering replacing your existing windows and/or exterior doors, the glass package you choose is very important.  In addition to choosing the number of panes (at least two, and in some cases three) as well as other things such as U/V coating, we highly recommend you take a look at decorative glass.  This type of glass is divided into two categories:  obscuring and art.  Obscuring glass includes such things as textured, frosted, etched, and more.  Art glass often resembles stained glass and provides often colorful touches that create an artistic focal point.

• Decorative glass can increase privacy without sacrificing illumination. This is particularly important in places such as entryways and bathrooms.  You don’t want people to have a clear view inside, but you also want light coming in to illuminate what would otherwise be a dark area during the day.  
• Decorative glass allows you to create unique looks for your home.  The wide variety available from ProVia means you’ll be easily able to choose glass that reflects your personal taste as well as coordinates with the architectural style of your house.

New for 2024: ProVia ‘Genesis’ Decorative Glass

ProVia already offers quite a few art and obscuring glass options, but recently they’ve announced a new one, Genesis – shown in the photo at right.  From the company:

“Genesis features vertically oriented panels with microcubed and cubed privacy glass to provide security and modern sophisticated style, while beveled glass inserts offer a modest glimpse of interior and exterior spaces.”

ProVia’s glass options can be selected for entry doors of various configurations (partial, 3/4, or full glass) as well as sidelights and windows, including transoms.  The narrow entryway shown here gets plenty of light through the 3/4 glass door, but in a larger entryway sidelights and perhaps overhead transoms could create even more light.
